An intensive leadership programme for professionals who want to inspire, connect with and motivate others – without pushing or controlling them – and who are willing to tackle conflicts and difficult conversations, turning them into constructive and impactful outcomes.

In a world where hierarchy is becoming less and less the norm, leadership is no longer about position or title, but about influence. The real challenge today lies not in making decisions, but in “winning people over”, persuading colleagues, overcoming resistance and reconciling differing interests.

In a Leading by Influencing training, you will discover how personal leadership, communication and self-awareness together form the foundation for lasting impact. You will not only learn how to influence others, but above all how to better understand and manage yourself first – which is the key to authentic and effective leadership.

You will also discover how to inspire others through connection, trust and clear communication, and how to drive change without being pushy. This programme combines insights from psychology, behavioural science and communication with practical applications, so that you not only understand leadership, but also truly experience and apply it in your day-to-day work.

Insights Discovery provides insight into your personal behavioural preferences, your strengths and weaknesses, and your communication and leadership styles.
The interaction matrix teaches you the three main domains in which communication takes place: Harmony, Distance and Conflict. In this programme, we explore each domain in depth so that you can influence your employees’ behaviour.
Mindful breathing techniques to help you find peace of mind and body, enabling you to connect genuinely with others.
Influence strategies: which ones work in which contexts?
Practising with real-life cases: no theory, just practical application.

Insights Discovery provides insight into your personal behavioural preferences, your strengths and weaknesses, and your communication and leadership styles.

What does Leading by Influencing entail?

The programme consists of four sessions spread over:

Fundamentals of leadership
• What is true leadership?
• The power and biology of influence
• Techniques for connecting and building rapport
• Having the courage to tackle conflicts
• Embracing differences (within your team) and using them to your advantage

Personal leadership
• Embracing the leader you want to be
• Personal behavioural and communication preferences (based on Insights Discovery)
• Self-reflection – a process of self-awareness
• Self-regulation – managing your own behaviour and emotions
• Self-confidence

Leadership and communication
• Leading (difficult) conversations and conflict situations assertively
• The interaction matrix: Harmony – Distance – Conflict
• Guiding and steering desired behaviour
• Effective listening
• Dealing with conflicts assertively
• Setting clear boundaries

This training is also designed to deal with aggressive behaviour in a constructive manner,
and to conduct effective negotiations in difficult situations or during special interventions.
